Description The Winkhaus Cobra 55mm 2 Hook 20mm Radius End Faceplate Multipoint Door Lock is engineered for composite and timber doors prepared for a 55mm backset multipoint lock. It replaces locks that use a euro cylinder with 92mm PZ centres. The latch holds the door closed during use, while turning the key throws the deadbolt from the centre case. In addition, lifting the handle engages the hook locking points positioned along the door edge. For proper installation within composite door slabs, a 20mm faceplate runs the full length of the system and sits within a radius end door edge. The centre case contains the latch and deadbolt and aligns with the primary frame keep. Furthermore, one hook locking point sits above the centre case and another sits below, and these hooks pull the door tightly into the frame when the handle is lifted. At the centre of the system, the handle passes through a single spindle follower within the centre gearbox. Its lift lever action then drives the hooks from the lock strip and into their frame keeps. For accurate positioning along the strip, the top hook sits 735mm above the centre case, while the bottom hook sits 750mm below the centre case. As a result, the hook-to-hook measurement of 1485mm, and the overall faceplate length measures 1770mm. To maintain performance over time, we recommend routinely servicing that both hooks enter the frame keeps without resistance. In addition, apply light lubrication to the latch and hook during maintenance. For continued operation, confirm the euro cylinder remains secure in the centre case, and check the door alignment if resistance occurs.
